The much anticipated American gothic supernatural horror film The Nun will be released today at Star Cineplex and Blockbuster Cinemas in the capital simultaneously with cinemas in the other countries.
The Nun, a spin-off of 2016’s The Conjuring 2, has been directed by Corin Hardy and written by Gary Dauberman, from a story by Dauberman and James Wan.
The film, which is the fifth installment in The Conjuring Universe, stars Demian Bichir, Taissa Farmiga and Jonas Bloquet.
The plot of The Nun revolves around the mysterious suicide of a nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania in 1952. The Vatican sends a priest named Father Burke (Demian Bichir) and a novice named Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to investigate the matter. However, things take a turn for worse when they accidentally discover an unholy secret while investigating the causes of the suicide. They confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun named valak, who first appeared in The Conjuring 2.
