At least three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Feni and Gaibandha on Wednesday.
New Age correspondent in Feni reports that a female pedestrian died on the spot when a private car rammed her on Dhaka-Chittagong national highway at Fazilpur area in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rahena Begum, 50, wife of Nur Nabi from village Shibpur under Fazilpur union in sadar upazila.
District traffic inspector (administration) Mir Golam Faruque said the car on Dhaka-Chittagong route crushed the woman under its wheels.
Muhuriganj highway police station members seized the car and arrested the driver Mostafa Jamal.
The body was sent to Feni District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
United News of Bangladesh reports that two motorcyclists died on the spot when a tractor rammed a motorbike at Chithulia under Shaghata upazila in Gaibandha around 7:00am.
The deceased were identified as Sajib Ghosh of Shaghata and Naruttam of Gabtali in Bogura district.
Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shaghata police station, said the Gaibandha-bound tractor hit the motorbike carrying two people.
Police seized the tractor, but could not arrest its driver as he managed to flee the scene.
