Law enforcers, in special drives, arrested 22 people including 12 drug traders in different areas of Dinajpur Monday morning.
Law enforcers also seized 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets, 209 pieces of Yaba tablets, 200 litres of local liquor and 150 bottles of Phensedyl during the drives that lasted for 12 hours.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested four people including two drug traders with 98 pieces of Yaba tablets, Parbatipur thana police arrested four drug traders with 200 litres of local liquor, Birganj thana police arrested two people, Kaharole thana police arrested two people, Chirirbandar thana police arrested two people and Ghoraghat thana police arrested two people.
The arrested were wanted in cases filed with different police stations on various charges, including charges of subversive activities, police sources said.
The Border Guard Bangladesh, in separate drives, detained six drug traders with 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets, 110 pieces of Yaba tablets and 150 bottles of Phensedyl at Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
The detained were handed over to the Hakimpur police station, BGB said.
All of the arrested were later sent to jail.
