BR fines 209 commuters for traveling without tickets

Bangladesh Railway fined 209 passengers aboard five trains over Tk 1.06 lakh for travelling without tickets on different routes under Lalmonirhat railway division.
‘Led by Lalmonirhat divisional railway traffic superintendent of BR Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi, we conducted the daylong special ticket checking drives on the route from Lalmonirhat to Bamondanga on Saturday,’ BR’s assistant traffic superintendent Sajjat Hossain on Sunday said.
During the drives, the BR officials found 209 passengers of two intercity trains ‘Kartoa Express’ and ‘Lalmoni Express’ and three commuter trains to be travelling without tickets.
The officials fined them on the spot.
‘The special ticket checking drives will continue in trains on various routes under Lalmonirhat railway division in future,’ said BR’s Lalmonirhat divisional railway traffic superintendent Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi.
