Salman Shah Smriti Parishad will organise a day-long Salman Shah festival on Bangladesh Film Development Corporation premises celebrating the late renowned Dhallywood actor’s 47th birth anniversary, which will be celebrated on September 19.
The festival, scheduled to be held on September 29, will feature discussion, cultural show, awards ceremony and others.
Shahriar Chowdhury Emon, popularly known as Salman Shah, made his silver screen debut in 1993 through Sohanur Rahman Sohan directed film Keyamot Theke
Keyamot. The film was a remake of an Indian film named Qayamat Se Qayamat Taak.
In total, he acted in 27 films – most of which were commercially successful. Salman Shah died on September 6, 1996.
‘Salman Shah Smriti Parishad has been organising programmes marking birth and death anniversaries of Salman Shah every year since 2003.
Through the programmes we want to keep Salman Shah’s memories alive’, said singer S M Shafi, president of Salman Shah Smriti Parisad.
