Bullet-hit body of Ansar member found in Gazipur

Police recovered a bullet-hit body of an Ansar member from a Textbook Board warehouse in Morkun area of Tongi in Gazipur city on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Junayed Ahmed, 35 son of Jahur Ali of Jamalgnj Sunamganj. He was a security guard of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board’s warehouse at the area.

Sub-Inspector Ashraful Islam of Tongi police station said that the Ansar member Junayed  was on duty in a warehouse of National Curriculum and Textbook Board in Morkun area of Tongi around 10:00pm. Later, he went to a nearby lavatory around 11:00pm.  At one stage, a sound of bullet firing came from the lavatory. The colleagues of Junayed rushed to the spot and found him dead.

‘Junayed might commit suicide using his own rifle, according to a primary investigation. The investigation is underway in this regard,’ SI said.

On information, police recovered the body and sent to  Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for an autopsy.
