‘Outlaw’ killed in Rajbari ‘gunfight’

An alleged member of an outlawed party was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Alamdanga area in Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Matin, 35, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of the area.
Being tipped-off that some outlaws were holding a secret meeting in the area, a team of police conducted a drive there around 1:30am, said Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kalukhali police station.
When the police team reached there, the gang members opened fire on them, forcing the law enforcers to retaliate. Matin died on the spot in the ensuing gunfight.
The police recovered one shooter gun, two cartridges, several bullet shells and sharp weapons from the spot, the OC added.
