Information secretary Abdul Malek has said that Bangladesh Betar has been playing a vital role in disseminating message of the government’s development programmes among the country’s people.
‘Betar also plays an important role to reach emergency messages to the people living in hard-to-reach areas,’ the secretary said while addressing a view-exchange meeting with officers and employees of Rajshahi Station of Betar on Thursday afternoon.
Chaired by regional director-in-charge of Betar Hassan Akhter, the meeting was addressed, among others, by deputy
commissioner SM Abdul Kader and engineer of Bangladesh Television Zillur Rashid.
Abdul Malek said that the present government under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina had taken various effective steps to combat extremism, terrorism, sexual harassment and road accidents across the country.
He urged local Betar officials to reach information to the people quickly as Bangladesh Betar was an important medium to disseminate necessary information at grassroots level.
Malek urged the officials and staff concerned to disseminate the development message of prime minister’s Ten Special Initiatives, including community clinic, safety net programme and Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar project, among marginal people.
