Shipping minister Shajahan Khan on Friday said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party founder and former president Ziaur Rahman and his widow Khaleda Zia had rehabilitated Razakars and other anti-liberation elements in the country.
‘Khaleda Zia is the patron of anti-liberation force. She carries the ideology of militancy and terrorism. She observes fake birthday, burn people to death and spread falsehood. For such misdeeds, she has been detached from the people,’ he said.
The minister urged the pro-liberation forces to get united against all the misdeeds of Khaleda Zia.
Shajahan Khan came up with the observations while addressing discussion titled Bangabandhu, Liberation War and Bangladesh’ at National Press Club in Dhaka.
Bangabandhu Gobeshona Parishad organised the programme marking the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Presided over by parishad president Lion Md Goni Miah Babul, the discussion was addressed by poet Kazi Rozi, Mp, justice Shamsul Huda, Jagannath University vice-chancellor Professor Mizanur Rahman, Bangladesh Krishi Bank chairman Mohammad Ismail, former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Bahadur Bepary and Aslam Sunny, among others.
Special munajat was also offered at the end of the discussion, seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs of August 15, 1975.
