Police asked to attach movable properties of 2 absconding accused

Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal of Dhaka on Wednesday directed the police to attach movable properties of Mamunur Rashid Ripon and Shariful Islam Khaled, the absconding accused in the Holey Artisan Bakery extremist attack case.
The tribunal also directed the officer-in-charge of the Bagmara Police Station in Rajshahi and the officer-in-charge of Nandigram Police Station in Bogra to submit a compliance report by September 30, the day for next hearing.
On the day, Dhaka Central Jail authorities replying to an earlier show-cause notice told the tribunal that they could not produce Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, one of the eight arrested accused in the case, since he was remanded in police custody in
Panchagarh.
The five others arrested accused include Rashed alias Rash, Sohel Mafuz Nasrullah, Rakibul Islam Regan, Mizanur Rahman and Hadisur Rahman
Sagor.
On July 23, the counter terrorism and transnational crimes unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police submitted charge sheet against eight suspects for extremist attack on Gulshan café Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1, 2016 that left 29 people, including 17 foreigners and five suspects, killed.
Later, Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal accepted the charge sheet for holding the trial.
