38 to vie for each seat in DU admission test

Thirty-eight admission seekers will vie for a single seat in the first-year honours admission test of Dhaka University under the academic session of 2018-19.

A press release issued from the university on Wednesday said that 2, 72, 512 admission seekers applied for 7,128 seats as the university close the application process at 2:00pm on the day.

Some 82,970 admission seekers have applied for 1,750 seats under ‘Ka’ unit (science faculty), 36, 250 admission seekers for 2,378 seats under ‘Kha’ unit (arts faculty), 27, 534 admission seekers for 1,250 seats under ‘Ga’ unit (business studies), 1,00,614 admission seekers for 1,615 seats under ‘Gha’ unit (combined),  and 25,144 admission seekers applied for 135 seats under ‘Cha’ unit (fine arts faculty).

The admission test under ‘Ga’ unit for the students of business studies would be held on September 14, followed by ‘Kha’ unit for students of humanities on September 21, ‘Ka’ unit for students of science on September 28 and ‘Gha’ unit for students from all disciplines would be held on October 12, the press release added.

The intake test under ‘Cha’ unit for admission in the fine arts faculty in general knowledge would be held on September 15 while drawing would be held on September 22.

The online application process for admission to Dhaka University for 2018-19 academic sessions began on July 31.
