A joint convener of students’ movement for reform of quotas in public service Lutfun Nahar Luma, also a student of Eden College, got bail on Monday.
After hearing her petition Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh granted bail to Luma in the afternoon.
Defense lawyer Zayadul Islam said they told to the court in the bail hearing that she did not make any comment which may fall under the provisions of section 57 of ICT act. So, she is entitled to got bail, they told the court.
Luma was picked up from her grandfather's house in Sirajganj on August 15.
The Cyber Crime Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police also seized her two mobile phones.
She was shown arrested in a case filed with Ramna Police Station on August 5 under the controversial Section 57 of the Information and Communication Technology Act.
A Dhaka court placed on a three-day remand after she was produced before it in the case on August 16.
Luma was sent to jail on August 20 after Inspector Rafikul Islam of Cyber Crime Unit of DMP produced her before a Dhaka court on completion of her three-day remand.
