Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Sunday said that no large scale crime took place during the Eid-ul-Azha vacation as police personnel performed their duties with professionalism.
‘We have taken tight security measures in the capital city for peaceful celebration of the Eid and policemen had performed duties with professionalism for which no major crime was taken place during the vacation,’ he said at an Eid reunion programme of the police personnel at DMP headquarters in Dhaka.
Asaduzzaman Mia thanked the DMP personnel for their hardworking in ensuring security to the city dwellers and maintaining law and order of the capital.
Describing arrangement of security during the Eid vacation when the Dhaka city bore deserted look as hundreds of thousands of people left the capital for their villages, he further said, ‘No significant crime took place during the vacation because of tight security arrangements.’
