Woman killed in Jessore

A woman in her thirties was reportedly killed by a local young man at Kismat Nawapara area in Jessore town on Friday night.
New Town police outpost in-charge sub-inspector Faruk Hossain said Kalpana Begum was killed in absence of her husband Mohammad Sohel around 8:00pm.
Police suspected that there might be an extra-marital relation between the killer and the victim, but nothing could be confirmed before the completion of an investigation, added Faruk Hossain.
Mehjabin, daughter of the victim, told journalists that Rubel, who lives in a rented nearby house, killed her mother by hitting her with an iron tool on the back of her head.
Salahuddin Sikder, additional superintendent of police, said victim’s daughters Mehjabin and Trisha were doped up to make them unconscious before the killing.
Kotwali police officer in-charge Apurba Hasan said no case was filed and none was detained in this regard, but the police were trying to arrest the suspect.
