None was arrested even in six days of the gun attacks in Khagrachari that killed seven people, including four leaders of Chittagong Hill Tracts-based political party United Peoples’ Democratic Front-backed organisations on August 18.
‘We could not arrest anyone until Friday evening in connection with the case,’ Khagrachari police station officer-in-charge Shahadot Hossain Titu told New Age.
He said that the police was now recording statements of the witnesses in the case.
The police officer said that they were trying to identify the killers and nab them.
The police lodged the case with Khagrachari police station on August 19 against 15-20 unnamed people for the killing of the seven.
Seven people, including four Chittagong Hill Tracts-based political party United Peoples’ Democratic Front-backed organisation leaders, were killed in gun attacks on them at two places in Khagrachari – one at Swanirbhar bazar and the other at Perachhari - on Saturday.
