Eid being celebrated at places in Bangladesh

A large number of residents of Satkhira, Lakshmipur, Dinajpur, Chittagong, Barisal, Patuakhali, Barguna, Pirojpur, Jhalkathi and Bhola districts are celebrating the Eid-ul-Azha in line with Saudi Arabia.

In Barisal division, more than 50,000 people said Eid  congregational prayer and sacrificed animals in 80 places of eight upazilas under Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalakati, Pirojpur  and Barguna districts.

Participants of the Eid ul Azha festival on Tuesday claimed they are the followers of Quaderia, Jahangiria and Chistia schools of spirituality.

Pir of Elahabad Sufia Darbar Sharif at Kanchan Nagar and Pir of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania in Chittagong are their present leaders in Bangladesh.

Habibur Rahman and Abdur Rashid, followers of this sect, said they usually observe all religious worshipping and festivals, customs and according to the calendar and systems of Saudi Arabia.

Golam Mir Md Fazlul Huq, another local leader of them, said they observed Eid ul Azha on Tuesday, one day before the other sects, according to the direction of their Pir Shaheb of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania in Chittagong.

An Eid jamaat (congregation) conducted by Maulana Mohammad Delwar hossain was held at Tajkathi Sahasufia Mamtazia Jam-e Mosque in Barisal Corporation area .

United News of Bangladesh adds: In Satkhira, many residents of Satani, Bhadara, Baukella, Mrigidanga, Mollikpara, Bhadukhali, Mahmudpur villages in sadar upazila, and Islamkati and Sujanshah villages in Tala upazila, while a village in Kaliganj upazila are celebrating their Eid.

An Eid jamaat (congregation) conducted by Maulana  Mahabbat Ali was held at Baukhola village in  Shatkhira sadar upazila at 8:00am.

In Laxmipur, the residents of Noagaon, Joypura, Bigha, Dakhshinpara in Ramganj upazila, Kolakopara in Raipur upazila and Boshikpur, Purba Panchpara and Mohadebpur in sadar upazila are celebrating the Eid.

The Eid congregations of the villages were held in their respective Eidgahs, mosques and open spaces at 9:00am.

In Dinajpur, around 2,000 people from Sadar, Chirirbandar, Parbatipur, Kaharole and Biral upazilas are celebrating the Eid.

An Eid congregation was held at a community centre at Bashuniapotti in Dinajpur at 8:15am. Besides, congregations were held in their respective Eidgahs, mosques across the upazilas.

In Chittagong, thousands of people of 30 villages in a number of upazilas are celebrating Eid.

Many residents of Satkania, Lohagara, Boalkhali, Chandanaish, and Mirsarai upazilas are celebrating the Eid. The villagers participated in several Eid congregations in the district.
