Hundreds of passengers have been suffering a lot as a 20-kilometre-long tailback was created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway since Wednesday morning due to slow movement of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in Daudkandi area of Comilla.
The tailback was seen stretching from Meghna-Gumti Bridge toll plaza to Madhaya in Chandina upazila following the heavy pressure of vehicles, said Nazrul Islam, superintendent of police of Comilla highway region.
He said on Tuesday, a section of garment workers put up a barricade near Meghna Bridge at Munshiganj point, disrupting traffic movement and its impact remained on Wednesday.
