Mouli presents solo in Indian dance fest

Bangladeshi dancer Zuairiyah Mouli performed solo in a two-day Bharatnatyam dance festival held in Chennai, India.
The festival titled ‘Pravasi Utsavam and Apos’, organised by ABHAI, an association of Bharathanatyam artistes of India, continued from Friday to Saturday.
Artistes from UK, USA, Malaysia, Bangladesh and India performed in the festival.
Zuairiyah Mouli presented a Bharatnatyam recital comprising pushpanjali, varnam and padam under the guidance of guru Kirti Ramgopal, reads a press statement sent by Mouli from India.
She received appreciation from the audience and gurus for being a soulful, neat and dedicated performer.
The event was very well attended by a packed audience comprising dancers, teachers, musicians, upcoming artistes and aspiring students.
The chief guests for the evening were world renowned dancer couple Padma Vibhushan Shantha and VP Dhananjayan.
An Indian Council for Cultural Relations scholar, Zuairiyah Mouli is taking her master degree in dance at the Bangalore University and pursuing her training under Kirti Ramgopal.
She took training in Bharatnatyam under Belayet Hossain Khan in Chhayanaut and later received intensive training under Amit Chowdhury in Kolpotoru Dance School.
During her course in Bangalore, Mouli has also performed in many reputed festivals in India such as Paithikram in Kerala, Pranavanjali and Udayraga in Bangalore and Hosur Natyanjali in Thamil Nadu.
She received Natya Kalamani award at Hosur Natyanjali. Last year she performed Bharatnatyam in Bengal Classical Music Festival held in Dhaka.
