Grameenphone on Sunday launched two new co-branded smartphones — Symphony G100 and Micromax B5 Pro — with an aim to bring general customers under 4G ecosystem.
The co-branded smartphones were introduced through an inauguration ceremony held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
Symphony G100 was priced at Tk 5,999 and Micromax BF Pro was priced at Tk 9,999; and the handsets will be available at GP centers and sales points from today.
Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission’s commissioner Aminul Hassan who unveiled the handsets as a chief guest said that the government launched 4G in February to speed up internet
services in the country and GP has been contributing to the government digital vision.
He also said that the government has been trying to bring 5G license in the country as well with gigabyte speed.
GP deputy chief executive officer Yasir Azman said that in order to facilitate general people access to the digital sphere, the two smartphones which not only boast excellent performance, but also come at affordable prices.
Symphony G100 comes with 18.9 full vision display, 1GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 2500 mAH battery and 5-megapixel front and rear cameras while Micromax B5 is equipped with 5,000 mAH battery, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and 5 megapixel front and 13 megapixel rear cameras.
GP customers who will register the handsets will get 4 GB free internet that will be valid for 7 days, GP officials said.
Symphony senior director Maksudur Rahman and Micromax international business head Sameer Kakar were, among others, also present.
