The sale of advance bus tickets on long routes for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha began on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Bus Owners’ Association vice president, also Shymoli Paribahan managing director, Ramesh Chandra Ghosh said the sale of advance bus tickets for the Eid holidays was supposed to begin on Sunday, but it was postponed as bus services on long routes were suspended due to ongoing students protests for safe road.
Since Tuesday morning, people rushed to different inter-district bus counters and formed queues to avail their tickets.
Leaders of the association said that they were selling advance tickets for journeys from August 14 to August 21 at Gabtoli, Kalyanpur, Asad Gate, Shymoli, Kalabagan, and Rajarbagh terminals.
However, the dates for sale of return tickets will be announced later, they said.
The sale of advance train tickets for Eid journey will begin from tomorrow.
