Architect Dr Sajid-Bin-Doza is displaying sketches of Jatiya Sangsad at his ongoing solo show at La Galerie of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka in Dhanmondi.
The show, titled ‘Silence in the Crowd’, is the eighth solo of Sajid, who is displaying twenty four sketches at the show. Besides, a miniature model of Jatiya Sangsad has also been displayed at the event.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the week-long show as the chief guest on August 3.
Eminent architect and poet Rabiul Husain and president of Institute of Architects Bangladesh Kazi Golam Nasir attended the inauguration ceremony as special guests.
‘The exhibition aims to promote Jatiya Sanshad as a world heritage site,’ said Sajid-Bin-Doza.
Jatiya Sangsad was designed by the renowned American architect Louis Kahn in 1961. It is one of the largest legislative complexes in the world, comprising 200 acres.
The displayed sketches at the show depict the vastness and hugeness of the complex.
Using pen, ink and sometimes soft colours on handmade paper, Sajid-Bin-Doza has captured the architectural magnificence of the complex in his sketches.
The exhibition will remain open for all until August 11.
