RU annual theatre festival ends

A week-long theatre festival featuring five plays directed and performed by theatre department students of Rajshahi University ended on Friday.
RU theatre department organised the festival titled ‘Annual Theatre Festival-2018’ at the university’s Shahid Sukhoranjan Samaddar Teacher Student Culture Centre to provide its MA students a platform to stage their plays.
On the concluding day, on Friday, Apu Shahid’s drama ‘Iswarpath’ directed by Md Imrul Asad was staged.
The play, Iswarpath, follows the story of a person named Provu, who wants to obtain all the power in the world and control all. However, his followers realise his intentions and hatch a plan to kill him.
Hasibul Hasan Dipto, Tamanna Jahan Neli, Tanvin Nafisa Mim, Latifa Yasmin Asha, Jannatul Mawa Orthi, Nishuti Sarkar, Ononna, Sanjana and Marjana acted in the play.
Besides, students staged four plays, including, Shuvra Sundor Kollani Ananda, written by Zia Haidar and directed by Md Tariq Zobayet, on Sunday, Nishad, written by Mohito Chattapadhyay and directed by Sayed Asraful Haque, on Tuesday, Topossi O Torongoni, written by Buddhodeb Bosu and directed by Mahindranath Ray, on Wednesday and Shailok O Cikofanatas, written by Shahjada Ferdous and directed by Tarok Nath, on Thursday, during the festival.
