A female student of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her house at Daspukur in the city on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Fahima Akhter Chandni, 24, an MBBS final-year student and wife of Salehin Rony.
Quoting relatives of the deceased, sub-inspector Rafiq of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital police camp, said that Chandni along with her husband lived at a rented house in Daspukur area as both of them were medical college students.
Having no response from Chandni’s mobile phone till 11:00pm, Salehin informed her friends about the matter.

She was taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 12:00am.
It was not clear what prompted her to commit ‘suicide’.
