Television Programme Producers Association has banned actress Sarika Sabrin for six months for her unprofessional behaviour resulting in problems for producing some Eid teleplays and a series.
The association members in a meeting presided over by the president of the organisation Mamunur Rashid held on Wednesday took the decision following a complaint placed by producer Mohammad Borhan Khan. The ban will be effective from the day.
Meanwhile the actress will not be allowed to act in any teleplay or series.
Borhan Khan in his complaint stated that he had to suffer for producing five Eid teleplays and a series scheduled to be filmed in Nepal last month.
‘The actress took Tk 50,000 in advance, air ticket and scripts of the plays but did not go to the airport. We had to arrange another actress for completing the shooting,’ Borhan said.
Sarika said she would take decision after getting the ban letter.
Earlier the producers banned actress Prasun Azad following a complaint lodged by Rokeya Prachi for such unprofessional behavior.
