Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said the bus drivers responsible for the road crash that killed two college students in the capital would face the music.
‘No compromise would be made in this regard… They will face exemplary punishment,’ the minister said after the inauguration of the modern bus terminal in Charfashion Upazila.
Criticising Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s political approach, Tofail Ahmed said they wants to do politics with everything including accidents as they don’t get any political issue. ‘Politics should not be attached to road accidents.’

The bus terminal has been built on three acres of land beside Bhola-Charfashion road at a cost of Tk 20 crore financed by the Charfashion Pourasabha. It is the largest terminal in the Southern region.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy minister for environment, forest and climate change Abdullah Al Islam Jakob said Bhola would be a prosperous district if Awami League is voted to power again.
Superintend of police M Mokter Hossain, district AL joint secretary Zahirul Islam Nakib, Charfashion Upazila Parishad chairman Zoynal Abedin, Pourasabha mayor Badol Krishna Debnath, Upazila AL general secretary Nurul Islam VP, Bhola bus owner association president M Akther Hossain and organising secretary Shafikul Islam, among others, addressed the programme.
