PMO asks BRTA, DMP to take action against underage, unlicensed drivers

The prime minister’s office on Tuesday directed the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and Dhaka Metropolitan Police to take legal action against underage and illegal drivers without licences on existing public transports in Dhaka.
The PMO also directed them to take legal action against the responsible persons for deaths of two students on July 29, said a press release issued by the office on Tuesday.
The directives were given in a meeting chaired by prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s principal secretary Md Nojibur Rahman at the meeting room in the office.
The meeting was attended, among others, by the officials of Roads and Highways Department, BRTA and Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation.
