Monsoon celebrated thru songs, poems, dances

Artistes celebrated the monsoon season presenting dances, songs and poems at a programme held at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Sunday.
Teachers and students of Government Music College and artistes of BSA performed at the show, titled ‘Bristir Podaboli’, which was jointly organised by the academy and the college.
Assistant professor of Government Music College Mofizur Rahaman sang Jhor jhor.
In solos, students of the college Bikash rendered a Nazrul song Mono moro megher o songe and Srikrishno Gopal sang Ashar maisa basha pani.
Students in group rendered popular songs on monsoon and presented flute, violin and tabla recitals.
Besides, artistes recited poems and presented dance recitals synchronised with songs glorifying the monsoon season.
Md Sohorab Hossain, secretary of secondary and higher education division of education ministry, was present as the chief guest. Besides, Mollah Jalal Uddin, additional secretary of secondary and higher education division, and professor Md Mahbubur Rahman, director general, directorate of secondary and higher education, were present as special guests at the programme.
BSA director general Liquat Ali Lucky presided over the event.
