Expatriates’ welfare and oversees employment minister Nurul Islam BSc has said that a Bangla school will be set up for the children of Bangladeshi expatriates in Italy.
He said this while addressing a function arranged by the Italy chapter of Awami League to accord him reception in Rome, Italy on Friday evening, said a press release here on Saturday.
The minister pledged that if the Awami League government comes to power again, it will take more development works for the wellbeing of Bangladeshi expatriates in the future.
He exchanged views with the expatriates regarding their problems and assured them of quick solution to the problems.
Nurul Islam said the country witnessed the most development during the regimes of the Awami League in the history of Bangladesh and all the expatriates are partners of this development.
Noting that the expatriates send some US$ 15 billion to Bangladesh annually, he said the amount of remittance will go up further in this current fiscal year.
Italy Awami League president Md Idris Faraji presided over the function while its joint general secretary Aftab Bapery conducted it.
Nurul Islam BSc also exchanged views with officials of the labour wing of Bangladesh mission in Milan on Thursday.
The expatriates’ welfare and oversees employment minister on July 20 last went on visit to four European countries and expected to return to home on Tuesday next.
