A farmer was beaten and hacked to death for refusing to give his cropland for a brick kiln in Manirampur upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Rahmatullah, 50, son of late Didar Box of Khodapara village of the upazila.
Relatives of the victim said that Abdur Rajjak and Makbul Hossain took lease a piece of land for setting up a brick kiln but they did not pay Rahmatullah in time.
