Chhayanaut celebrates monsoon thru songs

Cultural organisation Chhayanaut celebrated the monsoon by presenting songs and poems glorifying the season at its auditorium on Friday.
Chhayanaut artistes rendered seven Rabindra Sangeet, four Nazrul Sangeet and four songs composed by Atul Prasad Sen at the event.
Dancers presented colourful dance recitals synchronised with Tagore songs Aji jharo jhaoro mokhoro badolo diney and Harey rey rey amay, and a Nazrul song Bhabaney ashilo atithi sudur.
Abdus Sabur Khan Chowdhury and Mahmuda Akhtar recited two Tagore poems including Nabobesh and Meghdut.
Chhayanaut vice-president Abul Hasnat talked on different aspects of the season and their impact
on poets, writers and musicians.
The show began with a chorus presentation of Atul Prasad’s song Prabolo ghano megho aji.
Seasoned singer Iffat Ara Dewan rendered romantic Tagore song Anek katha bolechhilem.
ATM Jahangir, Mostafizur Rahman Turjo, Naima Islam Naj rendered Tagore songs Tomaro geeti jagalo smrity, Timir abagunthoney, Megher porey megh jomechhey respectively.
Child artistes in chorus presented Tagore song Baul badal bajayre ektara.
Suman Majumdar, Moidul Islam, Latifun Julie presented Nazrul’s songs Meghey meghey andha asimo akash, Elo shyamalo kishore and Keno karun surey hridoy porey respectively.
Atul Prasad’s songs Srabano jhulate badolo ratey, Badhuya nid nahi ankhipatey and Keo go gahile pathey were respectively presented by Jhuma Khandokar, Semanti monjuri and Senjuti Barua.
The show ended with the chorus presentation of the national anthem.
