Four including ‘PBCP leader’ killed in ‘gunfights’

Four people, one of them a suspected local leader of Purba Banglar Communist Party and three suspected robbers, were killed in three separate gunfights with police and the Rapid Action Battalion in three districts early Friday, the police and the RAB said.
Of the victims, two suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the police in Comilla, another ‘robber’ in a ‘gunfight’ with the RAB in Sirajganj and the ‘PBCP leader’ was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the police in Rajbari, reports received from the districts
said.
New Age correspondent in Sirajganj, quoting RAB-12 additional superintendent of police Sakibul Islam Khan, reported that suspected robber Hazrat Ali, 35, of village Udhuniya Pankhuriya under Ullapara in the district and named in at least 10 cases, was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the RAB members at Paikpara under Ullapara at about 3:00am on Friday.
The RAB official claimed that they recovered two shutter guns, 18 cartridges, one axe, a knife and three bullets from the spot.
In Comilla, two suspected robbers — Al Amin alias Kausar of village Maniknagar under Titash upazila and Ershad Mia of village Kongshanagar under Burichang upazila in the district were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the Detective Branch of police on the Batakandi-Asmania Road under Titash early Friday, reported United News of Bangladesh, quoting the district additional superintendent of police Shakhawat Hossain.
The police officer said they also recovered two firearms and some sharp weapons from the spot.
In Rajbari, Lalon Hawladar, 42, of Sujanagar upazila in Pabna and also a local leadr of Lal Pataka faction Purba Banglar Communist Party, was
killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the police at Sluice Gate area under Pangsha upazila in the district at about 4:00am on Friday, reported United News of Bangladesh, quoting Fazlul Karim, senior assistant superintendent of Rajbari
police.
The police officer said that Lalon was wanted in four cases and they seized two firearms and six cartridges from the
scene.
