FAMILIES in recent times have broken in to nuclear ones from big joint families. Small families of 3 or 4 members are seen around, living away from extended family members. On the other hand, today’s world demands more women at workplace which raises the question and availability of child care options. Options are limited and when it’s about our children, we only want the best. Care for Kids is one such option that can give the best for the children who need care and attention while their parents work without stress and tension.
Care for Kids is the brainchild of four enthusiastic partners who understood the dilemmas and distresses of today’s parenthood and wanted to do something about it. Sadia Begum, one of the four masterminds behind this venture says, ‘I saw the struggles of today’s parents and felt the need of doing something to help them out.’ She used her years of experience of elementary teaching and created the space that would make both parents and children satisfied and content.
Once you enter the centre, the bright walls and happy ambiance will instantly make you feel welcome and warm. The cheerful furniture and surroundings can make one smile instantly. The interior has been created keeping in mind the safety of the children. The place can make a child feel instant belongingness with the toys, books and other essentials which has been specially brought from Germany. Rooms are air-conditioned and spacious with each child having enough space. Both indoor and outdoor spaces provide a range of opportunities for children and a space to share experiences. The play area is especially designed with each age group in mind and includes sandpits, chalk boards, swings, slides, puzzles, sea-saws, cycles etc in plenty to entertain the children. The centre has also kept in mind the independence of the children and equipped the washrooms accordingly with mini basin, commode etc.
The programs and fees of the centre are of different types which caters every individual’s need. First, there is Tk 500 per hour facilities which can come very handy for working parents or even when there is an appointment or invitation where children are not included. There’s a half day program costing Tk 10,000 per month where a child can stay at the centre for 5 hours. The other program is a full day program of 11 hours that costs Tk 18,000. Sadia Begum is this regard adds, ‘We offer a wide variety experiences like of dance, music, gentle exercise and games under supervision of experienced professionals. Our curriculum is designed to allow children to explore all with their natural qualities. We encourage their sense of discovery while building vocabulary, encouraging imagination, and personalizing learning.’ The centre is also looking into offering extracurricular activities for children over the weekend so that children can learn and enjoy the weekends.
The admission process is very simple. The age limit for the centre is between 1 year to 6 years. Preschool learning will be provided to the kids that are admitted in the day care centre at free of cost. The opportunity of admission depends on seat limit. The required documents for admission includes , the filled up application form, copy of child birth certificate; copy of national identity card of parents and recent colour photo in passport size; copy of national identity card of legal guardians in absence of parents and recent colour photo in passport size.
