Manna’s Kritanjali Kathachitra to produce Jam

Kritanjali Kathachitra, a production house of the late actor Manna, announced to produce a film after ten years through a launching ceremony held on Monday at Dhaka Club.

Manna’s widow Shelly Manna declared the name of the new film, Jam, which will feature Ferdaus and Purnima in lead roles.

Kritanjali Kathachitra in 2008 produced FI Manik’s Pita Matar Amanat.

‘We hope to produce some quality films from the house from now on’, Shelly Manna said at the launching ceremony (shubho maharat) of the film.

Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, state minister for information ministry Tarana Halim, actors Ferdaus, Purnima, Suchanda, ATM Shamsuzzman and Indian actress Rituparna Sengupta, among others were present at the programme.

Jam will be directed by Nayeem Imtiaz Niamul. The director said he was communicating with Arefin Shuvo and Rituparna Sengupta to play two important roles in Jam.

Shooting of the film will begin in October, Niamul said.

Kritanjali Kathachitra has so far produced films like Lut Taraj, Laal Badsha, Abbajan, Swami Istrir Juddha, Dui Badhu Ek Swami, Manna Vai and others.
