2-day culture fest ends in Sylhet

Artistes present a dance recital on Saturday in Sylhet.

Artistes entertained the audience presenting diverse traditional songs including Jarigan, Lokogeeti, Palligeeti, Lalon songs and others at a two-day culture festival, which ended at Sylhet district Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.

Ekushey Padak winning singer Sushama Das, Birahi Kala Miah, Malati Pal, Shamim Ahmad, Khokan Fakir, Lovely Laskar, Iqbal Shai and Arnisha Parna, among others, rendered songs at the two-day event.

Artistes of district Shilpakala Academy, students Government Girls High School and College and others presented dance recitals.

Besides, documentary films highlighting development activities of the government were also screened.

The festival was organised as part of the two-day nationwide culture festival, which was organised by cultural affairs ministry in association with the cabinet division and information ministry to promote the regional artistes, poets and writers to the local audiences.

Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the festival at Savar Upazila Complex in Dhaka on Friday. The festival ended on Saturday.
