Artists Jamal Ahmed and Kamal Pasha Chowdhury have been respectively appointed the president and general secretary of Bangladesh Charu Shilpi Sangsad for the next two years.
The 31-member executive committee led by Jamal and Kamal was announced at the conference of BCSS held at Dhaka University’s Teacher-Student Centre on Friday.
A 63-member sub-committee for the secretaries was also announced at the programme.
The conference was inaugurated by Shammilito Snskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus. Dhaka University’s pro-vice chancellor M Samad and artists Jamal Ahmed, Nazma Aktar, Moniruzzaman and Mujibur Rahman, among others, were present at the conference presided over by artist Abdul Mannan.
The newly appointed committee paid tribute to Zainul Abedin by placing flower wreaths on his grave at Dhaka University.
