Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee on Friday formed 81-member committee with Shailendra Nath Majumder as president and Kishore Ranjan Mandol general secretary.
The committee was formed at the biennial conference of the committee held at Dhakeshwri National Temple in the capital.
Mohammad Nasim, presidium member of Awami League and health and family welfare minister, was chief guest in the opening session of the conference.
Chaired by the outgoing president DN Chatterjee, the programme was attended by food minister Qamrul Islam, deputy high commissioner of the Indian high commission in Dhaka Adarsha Saika, local member of the parliament Hazi Mohammad Selim and others.
The opening session was followed by a council session where new committee was formed.
