Body of another missing student recovered from Meghna

The body of another student of a private university, who along with a female student went missing in the River Meghna at Char Sonarampur on Saturday, was recovered from Rail Bridge area in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Ishraque alias Mehrab, 20, a student of computer science and engineering department of Notre Dame University in the city.
Earlier, the body of Sanzida Binte Tanvir, 21, was recovered from the river.
Badrul Alam Talukder, officer-in-charge of Ashuganj police station, said that seven students of the private university had gone on a boat trip to Char Sonarampur on Saturday during which Sanzida slipped into the river and drowned.
Mehrab also drowned while trying to rescue Sanzida. Divers from the local fire service station and members of Bangladesh Navy started a rescue operation.
Sanzida’s body was found afloat in the river around 11:00am while the other was recovered from the area around 8:30pm.
