Top-order batsman Mizanur Rahman failed to add any run to his overnight score on the third day as Prabath Jayasuriya removed him in the second over of the day’s play.
Soumya Sarkar, who was unbeaten on 24 overnight, was the next man to be dismissed by the same bowler after making 28 runs.
Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara then joined in the act and bagged five more wickets of Zakir Hasan (three), Mohammad Mithun (0), Afif Hossain (0), Nayeem Hasan (eight) and Khaled Ahmed (0) to finish with the tally of 6-46.
