Three suspected drug peddlers were killed in separate ‘gunfight’ incidents at Jhenaidah and Mymensingh early Sunday.
According to the Rapid Action Battalion, two of the suspected drug peddlers were killed in ‘gunfight’ with RAB, at Pabahati, Jhenaidah.
Of the killed suspected peddlers, Sazzadur Rahman, 42, was from the Baghajotin area while Abdul Razzaq, 35, was from the Udaypur

RAB 6 company commander Golam Mourshed said that on a tip-off a plainclothes RAB team raided the Khajura area at around 1:00am.
Sensing RAB’s presence, he said, the suspected drug peddlers fled from the spot on motorcycle and took the road on which RAB had a check post.
‘The drug peddlers opened fire on RAB members in their bid to stop the checking when RAB retaliated and two suspects sustained bullet injuries and died, RAB said.
Two RAB men Touhidul and Saidul were also injured in the incident, RAB said.
Our correspondent in Mymensingh reported that, a suspected drug peddler was killed allegedly in ‘gunfight’ with the police at Atharbari, Ishwarganj, Mymensingh early Sunday.
Police identified him as Faruk Mia, 30, son of Siddik Mia.
Officer-in-charge of Ishwarganj police station Ahmed Kabir said that on tip-off that drug money splitting was taking place, police raided the Atharbari area.
Sensing presence of the police, the drug peddlers hurled brick chips and opened fire on them. The police retaliated in self-defence, and at one stage of the ensuing gunfight the peddler allegedly fled, he said.
Later, the police recovered bullet-injured Faruk Mia and sent him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said OC.
