Every small step toward living a greener life makes a difference in the world and opting for organic instead of chemical is a small step everyone can take. Many people have sensitive skin that doesn’t respond well to chemically laden products. By using organic products, one might be able to avoid, or at least reduce, the skin problems that are caused by irritating chemical ingredients. Mehar’s offers a whole new range of organic products and cosmetics that are handmade and the owner Mehar Akhter Khan assures its quality.
She has been in the beauty industry for around three decades and always prefers using organic products. In a quest for perfecting the art of making organic soaps she gave some away to friends and family. Their encouragement prompted her to make it into a business and Mehar’s was created.
She created a Facebook page that has been up and running since March 2017. Though relatively new, the products have incited an interesting response from the public. Most of them are welcoming the idea of using organic products but some are apprehensive about the usefulness of the products as well. As no artificial flavour or chemical is used in the process of making the products they are not harmful for the skin. The raw materials are procured from both home and abroad, ensuring the quality is the top priority.
‘The humid weather is a huge problem in our country, the soaps melt faster because of it,’ says Mehar. But nonetheless she has been able to make the soaps sustainable and currently have a line of 15 different soaps to cater to different skin types. There are also shampoos and shampoo bar, face wash, scrub and moisturizers.
Among the fifteen soaps for oily skin there are soaps like sea salt and rice milk soap, pure coconut oil soap, moringa neem aloe vera lemon soap, activated charcoal soap. For dry to combination skin there are soaps like olive oil soap, neem aloe vera lemon soap, tomato and lemon soap, papaya carrot banana lemon soap, sandalwood soap, turmeric and lemon soap. For dry to normal skin there is milk oatmeal and honey soap; for dry skin goat milk soap is perfect. Multani mud soap, green tea and bentonite clay soap are for all skin types and the price for each of these range between Tk 130 to Tk 500.
There are baby soaps and baby shampoo bars too. Mehar’s will soon be launching a hair oil which will be a fusion of ayurvedic and therapeutic essential oils. Every product has a detailed ingredient list along with the description its benefits on their Facebook page which make it easier for one to decide if it is appropriate for them.
Mehar’s only provide home delivery as they do not yet have a shop. But they take part in various fairs all-round the year along with the Facebook page they have. For more details about the products visit their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MeharsOrganicSoaps/
