Pathao passenger dies as BRTC bus knocks bike in Dhaka

A co-rider was killed and the biker injured when a Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation bus hit their motorcycle on airport road in the capital.
The passenger of the bike under ridesharing service Pathao was not wearing helmet.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Nazmul Hasan Fuad, 32, senior officer of revenue assurance department in ADN Telecom.
He was on his way to his office at Mohakhali after he got on the motorcycle from near his home at
Koshaibari rail gate of Dakkhinkhan.
Airport police station sub inspector Md Shairf Hossain told New Age that a BRTC double-decker hit the motorcycle from behind about 100 yards from the airport square around 9:00am.
Nazmul and the biker, Mirajul Islam, fell onto ground and the bus run over Nazmul by crashing his head.
He died on the spot and the driver got minor
injuries, the sub-inspector said.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the relatives were taking preparation to file a case, he added.
Police arrested the driver, Azizul Haque
Shohagh, who said that he was appointed by the BRTC.
Both the bus and the bike were in police custody, police officials said.
