Child artistes of Surangana Lalitkala Academy entertained the audience by presenting dance recitals and songs a programme held at Music and dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday.
The academy organised the programme celebrating its 12th founding anniversary.
Child artistes, led by Nadia Dewan, commenced the programme presenting a dance recital synchronised with Tagore’s song Alo amar alo.
The children presented dance recitals synchronised with romantic songs and songs glorifying the monsoon season.
The child artistes presented dance recitals synchronised with songs like Momer putul momer desher meye, Rim jhim ghano ghano re barsha, Poush toder dak diyeche, Nach moyuri nache re, Ore ore amar mon meteche, Nitol paye rinik jhinik and Tomar akash duti chokhe.
Young students of the academy presented Tagore’s song Alokeri jhornadhara. They rendered songs like Chotto monira, Mon Jodi chai jete hariye, Ami joto tara tobo akashe and others to the delight of the audience.
The programme also featured a discussion. Dance artiste Laila Hasan was present at the programme as the chief guest. Writer and columnist Shahidullah Farayezi, women entrepreneur Kona Reza and principal of Surangana Lalitkala Academy Nadia Dewan, among others, were present at the programme, which was presided over by the president of the academy Belayet Hossain.
