Man killed in ‘gunfight’ in Jessore

A youth was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two groups of miscreants at Nimtala under Chaugachha in Jessore early Tuesday.
The dead is identified as Shahinur Rahman Shanin, 35, son of the late Mofazzel Hossain of Alamnagar under Kotwali police station in Jessore.
Sufia Begum, mother of the dead said her son, who was an accused in a murder case, went missing on June 11.
He was found dead at Jessore General Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
Khandaker Shamim Uddin, officer in-charge of Chaugachha police station, said an unidentified youth was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of miscreants at about 5:00am on Tuesday.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. He was declared dead by the doctor at Jessore General Hospital.
Police also claimed that they recovered a shooter gun and a bullet from the spot.
