Payra port authorities on Thursday signed three memorandum of understating with two Chinese companies for the development of the country’s third sea port.
The port signed two MoUs with China Harbour Engineering Company for the construction of ‘core port infrastructure’.
The port struck another MoU with China State Construction Engineering Corporation for building ‘riparian liabilities’ and ‘housing, education and health facilities’ of the port.
Payra port authority chairman Saidur Rahman and CHEC joint managing director ML Zeng Nanhi and CSCEC managing director Li Shujing singed the MoUs at the ministry of shipping.
Saidur said the Chinese companies might invest 600 million US dollar under the MoUs.
