Popular actress Sabnam Faria has played lead roles in many Eid teleplays, which have been aired on different television channels since the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The actress will be seen in Ananya Emon’s teleplay Zero Hour, which will be aired on Banglavision at 11:55pm tonight. The romantic teleplay stars Faria, Tausif Mahbub, Irfan Sazzad, Shatabdi Wadud and Mousumi Nag.

Tomorrow, SATV will air Faria starrer teleplay Chhoto Chhele at 08:35pm and Banglavision will air Mach Pakhi O Tumi at 09:05pm.

Faria began her career as a model and actress in 2013. She will make her silver screen debut with Joya Ahsan produced upcoming film Debi.

Faria said that TV plays are her first choice. ‘I am more comfortable with acting in TV plays which more or less portray real life stories’, said Faria.

In the last five days, different TV channels have aired around 12 teleplays like Shahzada Mamun’s Golapi Ghuri, Ragib Shahriar’s Kabir Hossain Ekjan Kapurush, Faria Hossain’s Protyashar Chandraat, Anjan Aich’s Sesh Parjanta Dekhun, Maruf Mithu’s Ekdin Chor Dhora Porbei, Mesbah Uddin Sumon’s Upalabdhi and others and a three-episode short drama series starring Faria.

‘Most of the teleplays revolve around romantic stories, while a few are comedies’, said Faria.

The actress has acted in only one Eid drama serial named Cholona Ghure Asi, which was aired during the first three days of Eid-ul-Fitr on Deepto TV.

‘I am a very selective when it comes to acting. I do not act in teleplays or serials if the character and script are not to my liking’, shared Faria.

The actress is going to make her silver screen debut with Jaya Ahsan-produced upcoming film Debi, scheduled to hit cinemas in September.

Faria has enacted the character of Nilu in the film, which is based on Humayun Ahmed’s famous novel with the same title.

‘I am a fan of Humayun Ahmed. I read Debi when I was in the ninth-grade. So I was more than happy to get the opportunity to act in the film based on the novel’, shared Faria adding that she is not interested to act in mainstream Dhallywood films.

When asked to share her experience of acting in Debi, the actress said, ‘I have already worked with most of the cast members of Debi on previous occasions except for Jaya apu. I really enjoyed working with her. Moreover, enacting a Humayun Ahmed character was both challenging and exciting. I will love to act in more films like Debi in future’.
