Dhaka, Beijing sign contract on K-8W jet trainer

K8 Jet Trainer

A contract signing ceremony for procurement of K-8W jet trainer aircrafts between Bangladesh Air Force and China was held at Air Headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday under a government to government mechanism. 
Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was present at the signing. 
The contract was signed by Assistant Chief of Air Staff Air Vice-Marshal M Sanaul Huq and Liu Jianhai, Vice-President of CATIC, on behalf of Bangladesh and China respectively, said a press release of the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate. 
Representatives of Air Headquarters, Armed Forced Division and Foreign Ministry, among others, were present. China ambassador in Bangladesh Zhang Zuo and CATIC president were also present.
The BAF has been flying K-8W jet trainer aircrafts since 2014. This contract is signed as a part of the implementation process of Forces Goal-2030.
Further acquisition of K-8W aircrafts will enhance and uplift the training capability of the BAF, said an official document.
