Three ‘JMB members’ held in C’nawabganj

The Rapid Action Battalion arrested three suspected members of banned Islamic outfit Ja-maatulMujahideen Bangladesh in different parts in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas of Chapainawabganj early Tuesday.
The arrested were Rahmat Ali, 47, son of Abdul Gafur, Jahangir Alam, 43, son of Mafiz Uddin, and Moazzem Hossain, 30, son of Hazrat Ali of Shibganj upazila.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-05 conducted a drive at Durgapur Purbapara in Sadar upazila and arrested Rahmat Ali around 3:45am.
Based on the information given by Rahmat, the elite force conducted another drive at Chakla in Shibganj upazila and arrested Jahangir and Moazzem, said a RAB press release. The police also recovered some books propagating extremism and passports from them.
