Two traffickers held with two leopards in Narayanganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion in a drive arrested two animal traffickers from Ragunathpur area of Fatullah on Thursday noon and rescued two leopards.

The arrestees were identified as Shawkat Mithu, 40, and Ariful Islam, 35, residents of the area.

Acting on a tip-off, an elite force team conducted a drive at Shawkat's residence and rescued the two leopards locked in an iron cage.

Later, the team arrested the duo for their involvement in trafficking animals, a RAB-11 press release said.

The rescued leopards would be handed over to the forest department, it said.
