Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Wednesday expressed her hope that hoped that the proposed Digital Security Law would be effective one and acceptable to all.
While addressing a pre-iftar discussion at the National Press Club, she said the parliamentary standing committee had been scrutinising the draft of the law and discussing with the stakeholders for its modification.
‘I hope that the proposed law will be an effective one,’ Shirin Sharmin said.
She also hoped that the 9th wage board for the journalists would be announced as early as possible.
Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu said the gazette of dearness allowance of 9th wage board would be published after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Dhaka Union of Journalists faction and BFUJ-Bangladesh Union of Journalists jointly organised the programme.
Earlier, the information minster on May 26, at the founding anniversary programme of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity said the DA of 9th wage board would be announced before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Chaired by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists president Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, National Press Club general secretary Farida Yesmin, DRU president Saiful Islam, BFUJ secretary general Omar Faroque, DUJ president Abu Zafar Surja, and general secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury spoke at the discussion.
