Majority of the record labels of the country are releasing music videos and songs on different YouTube channels to entertain music lovers this Eid because of sharp decline in physical album sales.
However, a few leading record labels are releasing albums in physical CDs ahead of the Eid festival.
Bengal Foundation has released six physical albums, while G-series has released songs and albums online and physical albums sponsored by Grameenphone.
The total number of music videos, single track songs and albums being released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is around 200.
According to sources, record labels are releasing Eid albums both digitally and in physical CDs, while the single track songs and music videos are being released digitally at different online portals and YouTube channels.
The majority of the songs and music videos feature upcoming and young singers. Besides, a few albums by noted singers are also being released.
G-series and its sister concern Agniveena are releasing around 100 music videos and a few albums featuring rock, pop, folk, modern and Tagore songs and poetry recitation.
The record labels have released albums and single track songs by seasoned singers like Yasmin Mushtari, Sujit Mustafa, Pantha Kanai, Shafin Ahmed, Nancy, Sandipan, Pintu Ghosh, Rinku, Kazi Shuvo and others.
Yasmin Mushtari’s Nazrul album Darale Duyare Mor, Sujit Mostafa’s album of modern songs Sohor Chhere, Shafin Ahmed’s Bhalobasar Janalay, Pantha Kanai’s Dukhini Chand, Pintu Ghosh’s Malik Shai and some others have been released for Eid.
Recently revived band Spondan, which was a popular rock band of the 1970s and was disbanded in 1975, has released its debut album School Khuilachhe under the banner of G-series. The full album is available on GP Music app and its web platform. The physical CD of the album will be released after Eid.
Laser Vision is releasing a total of 15 albums, majority of which are by upcoming singers like Upama, MH Rizvi, Wahid Zaman Oni, Masud Khan, Moumita Tasrin, Shahrid Belal and others.
The record label has, however, released a few albums by popular singers. Among which are Fahmida Nabi’s Chui Na Chui, Pantha Kanai’s Kotona Swapane, Beauty’s Nishi Bhor and Kazi Shuvo’s Dhar Dharina.
Bengal Foundation has released six audio albums of folk, Tagore and Nazrul songs by seasoned and upcoming singers.
Among Bengal Foundation’s Eid releases are Rathindranath Roy’s bhawaiya album Dharala Nadir Pare, Chandana Majumder’s Pran Bandhu Bihane featuring Radharaman’s songs, three Tagore albums including Tomay Amay Mile, Alok Malar Saje and Kanche Jabe Chhile respectively by Shimu Dey, Abhoya Dutta and Shukla Pal and a duet album of Nazrul song Nayaner Sei Sadh by Sushmita Debnath Suchi and Mohit Khan.
Sangeeta Music has released over 10 music videos including Asif Akbar’s Chole jao bandhu, Baby Naznin’s Priyatama, Samina Chowdhury’s Ek gaaner pakhi, Minar Rahman’s Amito emoni, Kazi Shuvo’s Ektu ektu jwali and others on YouTube.
Soundtek has also released around ten single track songs including Samina Chowdhury’s Firti pathe galpo, Pyshee’s Bam kalobe, Kazi Shuvo and Swaralipi’s Tor kotha bhabe mon and others digitally on its YouTube channel.
CD Choice is releasing 15 single track songs to entertain music lovers. Among the songs are Asif Akbar’s Monta narom korona, Kazi Shuvo’s Ki je bhalolage, Shahid’s Ek najar and few others. Besides a few duet songs like Tahsan and Tina Mustari’s Shesh kotha, Imran and Kona’s Ki isharay and few others will be released by the record label.
Eagle Music has released five music videos by singers like Imran, Niloy Khan, Arman Alif and Minar Rahman. Another music label Gangchil Music is also releasing a few music videos by singers like Minar Rahman, Kamalika Chakrabarthy and others.
